Harassment is any behavior intended to disturb or upset a person or group of people. In Windows XP, you have a few extra steps since Device Manager isnt as easily available in your version of Windows. The people in charge of Windows are failing. In Windows Vista, youll find Device Manager towards the bottom of the window. Click the Apply button, reboot your computer and thats it, Search Indexing has been. In Windows 11, 10 and 8, check under the Devices and Printers heading. (Or, to limit your search to a specific folder or library, don’t open Computer instead, open the specific folder or library you’d like to search. To search for files created or changed during a specific date, follow these steps: Click the Start button and click Computer. In the startup type drop down box, choose the Disabled option. Windows 7 makes that fairly easy, once you know this trick. However, I am searching for a way to search. Press the Windows key + Tab to bring up the Task View. I like the snappy feel of it and the no frills UI. Now locate the Windows Search service in the list of services, right click it and choose Properties. Hi I am coming from Foxit, to SumatraPDF 64bit on Windows 7. Plus apparently it brings back the "search for content in files" which i have dearly missed (the Windows 7 'content:' syntax isn't as good, and Explorer++ lacks this option). First of all click Start, type services.msc and press Enter. While I haven't tried it, I also just came across a very promising search program for Windows 7 called FileSearchEX that's based on the XP Advanced Search UI (aka Classic Windows 2K search) but with more in depth customizations. It also completes searches on my over 90% full terabyte HDD in seconds whereas Windows 7 will take several minutes or more to return less results. Search Windows for and open HP System Information, or press and hold ctrl + alt, and then press s to open the System Information window. I have found the files search in Explorer++ (a third party file manager for Windows of which there is conveniently a portable version) to be exceptionally good at basic string matching as the OP described. It is not the ideal solution, I know, but an alternative that hopefully some with appreciate nonetheless. After trying to 'fix' Windows Vista/7+ search for years I've slowly come to accept that 3rd party applications are likely the best solution. If this is the case, then why does LR bother to allow a person to create multi-word keyphrases? Take an example of the Flickr photos site- it allows you to create multiple word keyphrases by using quotes around the words, and then allows you to also create single word keywords.I'll be honest I don't know of a way to configure Windows 7 search to accomplish the same functionality as XP. I was just working through this today on my lunch hour, and didn't get to the bottom of the mystery yet. I say "works at all" because I am still learning whether LR allows you to create what looks like a keyphrase, and also allows you to create a one word keyword separately that happens to be a part of that keyphrase. Group PolicyWindows ComponentsSearch Do not allow web search Dont search the web or display web results in Search. This means that if I have "German Shepherd" and also a keyword, "shepherd", if it works at all, will not discriminate between the portion of "German Shepherd" and "shepherd", but will bring back ALL photos that include "shepherd" in them, unless you specify German and shepherd must BOTH be noted on a photo. In other words, If I have created a keyphrase "German Shepherd", LR will not search for "German Shepherd", but rather "german" and "shepherd" (notice too that LR is NOT case sensitive). I just recently became aware of the fact that whether your keywords are one or more than one word each, the search function (whether a straight search or criteria used for smart collections) will treat all keywords/phrases based on individual words.
